The Tarantula Waltz just finished his third European tour with The Tallest Man on Earth and early next year a new album is due for release!

The new material is full of innovative sounds with unexpected samples and lyrics that deals with some of the most unsettling issues of our time, but still with a consistently positive, progressive and hopeful undertone.

"On Blue As In Bliss, I have used other colors and tones than previously and I also wanted to challenge myself to a point where I wouldn’t get too comfortable. This has been a strong driving force in the creative process of the album,” says Markus Svensson, who’s behind the moniker. And Blue As the Bliss certainly feels like a step in an exciting new direction.

His recent EP, Lynx, produced by Kristian Mattsson (The Tallest Man on Earth) in his home studio in the forests of Dalarna, was released to great critical acclaim.

The Tarantula Waltz has toured almost continuously for years and has shared the stage with acts such as First Aid Kit, Damien Jurado and Iron & Wine.

In addition, he was last year personally selected to open for The European tour of The War On Drugs. The Tarantula Waltz has been recognized as "Best of What's Next" by Paste Magazine and been praised by international blog giants like Brooklyn Vegan, Uncut, The Line of Best Fit and Clash Magazine. The latest in line of great American blogs hyping The Tarantula Waltz is Consequence of Sound, whom after hearing some of the songs from the new album, stated that 2017 will be the year of The Tarantula Waltz.

Blue As in Bliss is released physically and digitally in February 2017 via the record label Woah Dad!
