Info for Transformations - Horn & Piano
Hornist Sibylle Mahni and pianist Hansjacob Staemmler have announced their upcoming album *Transformations* on our partner label CAvi Music. The program brings together works by Paul Hindemith, Jane Vignery, and Olivier Messiaen and explores the themes of change, renewal, and the power of new beginnings.
The selected compositions explore the theme of transformation from different perspectives: Hindemith’s Sonata for Alto Horn juxtaposes tradition and new beginnings; Vignery’s rarely performed horn sonata reflects the upheavals of her time; while Messiaen’s *Appel interstellaire* opens our eyes to hope and transcendence. Together, the works unfold an impressive dramatic arc that leads from loss and upheaval to resilience and inner renewal.
Through their long-standing artistic partnership, Mahni—a professor at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and winner of major international competitions—and Staemmler lend this multifaceted program a distinctive and forward-looking voice.
