Info for Another Helping of The Sweet Enoughs
This is the sole, full-length easy listening emanation by The Sweet Enoughs, the exotica trio dispelled of urgency, made up of Paul Bender (Hiatus Kaiyote), Simon Mavin and Lachlan Mitchell. It's a reissue of 2020's album, which leads on the spring-boxed guitar plods of 'Dream Puppy', then moves into the post-Hawaiian expansions of 'Lena's Song' before settling on the violin-backed lounge skewer 'Marshmallow'. The record is said to have been first conceived by an enigmatic, likely imaginary figure called Yannis Dreamlake, a man we've never been able to track down.
The Sweet Enoughs
Paul Bender aka The Sweet Enoughs
is the bassist and co-producer from three-time Grammy nominated band, Hiatus Kaiyote.
In 2020, Bender soft-released his debut album, ‘Marshmallow’, under his side project, The Sweet Enoughs.
Over time, ‘Marshmallow’ has become a word of mouth sensation. Earning fans in Tyler, the Creator and Kenny Beats, and accumulating over 20 million streams. Described as easy listening for the modern age, for fans of premium relaxation.
Hiatus Kaiyote released their debut album, ‘Tawk Tomahawk’, independently in April 2012. It was noticed by numerous musicians, including Animal Collective and Dirty Projectors, and the band later received public endorsements from Erykah Badu, Questlove and Prince. ‘Tawk Tomahawk’ was later released by Sony in 2012, adding an updated version of the song ‘Nakamarra’ featuring Q-Tip. Following this release, the band toured internationally, and in 2014 were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. They were the first Australian act to be nominated for a Grammy in an R&B category.
In early 2013, Gilles Peterson named Hiatus Kaiyote the Breakthrough Artists Of The Year at his Worldwide Music Awards in London.
