The essence of ‘Auana is deeply rooted in the Native Hawaiian appreciation of the islands' stunning landscapes. This inspiration comes to life through vibrant colors, diverse textures, immersive projections, and captivating sounds, creating a breathtaking tribute to the rich heritage of Hawaiʻi, as showcased by a renowned ensemble of local and international talent.

Composer Evan Duffy built the score to serve the story first, shaping each theme around the emotional moments on stage while drawing inspiration from Hawai‘i. He also collaborated with Keao NeSmith, whose lyrics are written entirely in ‘olelo Hawai‘i, reinforcing that language and music can share the same storytelling impact.

Evan Duffy
is a Los Angeles based composer and music producer providing compelling original music scores for films, television, and video games. He has contributed to a number of film scores including Transformers One, M3GAN 2.0, Fast X, The Super Mario Bros., the Now You See Me franchise, Crazy Rich Asians, and the Avengers: Age of Ultron. In addition to his film work he also contributes additional music to the video game Warframe, television series Found, and has worked extensively on CBS's Magnum P.I., MacGyver, and Hawaii Five-0.

Evan most recently composed the score to the new hit show from Cirque du Soleil's 'AUANA, which debuted in Honolulu in December of 2024 to critical acclaim. His score has been praised for it's authenticity and unique modern blend of cinematic, orchestral, vocal, and pop elements. ‘AUANA marks a continued collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, having also composed, produced, and arranged the score for the Las Vegas staple Mad Apple, which fuses pop, cinematic, and electronic aesthetics into a score worthy of the Empire State.

Alongside Evan's passion for film scoring is his excitement for music production. As a songwriter and producer his music has been featured in hit shows on Netflix, MTV, the CW, and featured in film trailers.
