Info for Trio E.T.A. plays Un | Known
Three works, three worlds – yet united by a shared pursuit: the search for that moment when music transcends itself. César Franck’s youthful Trio in F‑sharp minor bursts with creative energy, filled with melodies of immediate emotional force and a sense of freedom that opens the space wide. Edvard Grieg’s single movement for piano trio unfolds as a circle of light and motion: tentative, glowing, shimmering – a serious game that constantly reinvents itself. And the enigmatic A‑major Trio, long attributed to Brahms, speaks in a warm, expansive voice that feels familiar yet stems from an unknown hand. Together, these works form a panorama of chamber music: bold and youthful, poetic and searching, deeply rooted and full of open questions.

Trio E.T.A.
Elene Meipariani (violin), Till Schuler (cello), and Till Hoffmann (piano) are devoted to chamber music repertoire from classical to contemporary music. In addition to the masterpieces for the piano trio, they are also particularly interested in less heard, fascinating new discoveries and new music. In 2023, for example, a work by the composer Isabel Mundry will be dedicated to the Trio E.T.A.
In 2021, the young ensemble won the award of the German Music Competition, the special prize of the Rotary Club Bonn, and the prize of the Friends of Young Musicians Germany and has since been promoted with numerous concerts.
The Trio made its debuts in 2021–22 at the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Europäisches KulturForum Mainau, the Beethoven-Haus Bonn, and the Weilburger Schlosskonzerte. Since its founding, the ensemble’s artistry has been documented by numerous radio and television productions. These have included broadcasts for NDR and ARD Klassik as well as several concert recordings for SWR and BR.
The musicians can also look back on considerable success as soloists. They are prizewinners of prestigious competitions such as the TONALi Competition, the “Ton und Erklärung” Competition, and the Antonio Janigro Competition and have already performed as soloists with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Mariinsky Orchestra in halls such as the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Elbphilharmonie, and the Mariinsky Theater.
The Trio E.T.A. is supported by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and receives artistic inspiration from Dirk Mommertz, Eberhard Feltz, Priya Mitchell, and Niklas Schmidt.
