Info zu Temporary Coexistence of Humans

Peter Sandberg presents his long-awaited new piano project!

As with his previous recordings, the Swedish composer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist Peter Sandberg developed this project from his studio in Uppsala. His compositional style lies somewhere between stage and cinema, blending classical form and neoclassical minimalism with the storytelling and sentiment of contemporary media. His projects often hinge on deep, conceptual ideas while maintaining a simplicity and clarity of sound that makes them effortlessly accessible. Peter Sandberg has written music featured in seasons three and four of the record-breaking Netflix series Stranger Things, as well as commercials for brands including Volvo, Tesla and Vox.

"Even the smallest gesture can shift the course of another's world"; this is the magical truth that Peter Sandberg has instilled in his new album, Temporary Coexistence of Humans. Each of the thirteen original pieces sketches a profound portrait of one of the many distinct forms of connection that we as humans experience in our everyday lives. Some of these focus on interactions with the world around us-a dance with a stranger or a fleeting moment of affection-while others are more intimate ruminations about self-doubt or identity. Performing on solo piano, Peter Sandberg invites us into the chaotic wonder of humanity and what it means to navigate this world of precarious, yet beautiful, chance. Peter Sandberg has amassed a huge following since his music featured in seasons three and four of the record-breaking Netflix series Stranger Things.

Peter Sandberg

Peter Sandberg
Swedish composer and pianist Peter Sandberg has carved a singular place within the landscape of modern composition, blending neoclassical minimalism with the emotional immediacy of contemporary production. His work bridges the space between the concert hall and the cinematic world, pairing restraint with raw feeling, precision with vulnerability.

Across seven albums to date, Sandberg has built an expansive body of work defined by emotional clarity and conceptual depth. His compositions have appeared in major television series including Stranger Things (Seasons 3 and 4), introducing his distinctive sound to new audiences and affirming his gift for evoking profound emotion through simplicity and space.

His forthcoming album, Temporary Coexistence of Humans, will be released on 1 May 2026. Returning to the piano as his central instrument, Sandberg examines the illusion of control - how human lives intersect in fleeting, unpredictable ways, colliding like particles in a vast web of cause and effect. The album’s pieces act as small, vivid observations: moments of connection, compassion, regret, and release. Beneath their minimal surface lies a quiet curiosity about what it means to share time and space with others.

Working from his studio in Uppsala, Sandberg continues to blur the boundaries between classical form and contemporary reflection. His music doesn’t seek resolution so much as understanding - inviting listeners to pause within the tension, and to find beauty in the fragile, fleeting coexistence of us all.
