Juha Mäki-Patola is a Helsinki, Finland based composer, producer and musician. Following his previous albums that explored a meditative approach to cinematic modern classical music. Juha Mäki-Patola's new journey is devoted to NeoClassical and ambient soundscapes.

Juha Mäki-Patola
has been an active member on Finland’s music scene for over a decade, serving as a member of several bands and working behind-the-scenes as a producer, musician, and recording/mixing/mastering engineer for both local and international artists from various genres. All of this experience helped steer his vision towards the type of music he desired to compose and produce under his own name. Inspired by the great neo-classical composers of this era such as Jóhann Jóhannsson, Nils Frahm, and Max Richter as well as pioneering artists such as Brian Eno, Philip Glass, and Arvo Pärt, Juha began to create introspective and reflective instrumental pieces that sought a specific calmness – compelling but unhurried. With this he arrived on the international scene fully formed with his debut solo record 'Breath' in 2020 released by Hush Hush Records (Seattle, US). The record was met with widespread acclaim, catching the eye of critics and journalists as well as fellow artists. He received a wealth of requests to collaborate on new material, and has in the years since released a trio of collaborative genre-bending albums with Norwegian pianist Julia Gjertsen and Finnish clarinetist Tapani Rinne in addition to his EP Vague Light in 2023. He began working with Moderna Records in the spring of 2024 with his split single Sunpath / Closer, and 'Holding Patterns' EP in September 2024. He is set to release 'Solar Nights' LP of ambient music with the Canadian label in March 2025.
