Mathilde Grooss Viddal
One of the leading ensemble composers, arrangers and orchestra leaders in the North; four CD releases with ‘Friensemblet’, which have delighted jazz critics from several continents. She has given concerts at home and abroad with various bands and line-ups. Mathilde Grooss Viddal has written commissioned works for ‘Henie Onstad Kunstsenter’, BIME international puppet festival, Ingreja de Sao Vicente, 40th anniversary of Vossajazz 2013, etc. She has also appeared on dozens of CD releases. In 2006 she received the three-year artist grant from Norway. She plays primarily as a freelance improvisation musician. She is the leader of the ‘Friensemblet’, plays in Nunatak, Lucky Loop, Ellayali and the Eick/Viddal Duo.
