Info for Tatkraft

Sun After Dark blends modern elements, dark tones, Black Metal and powerful moods to tell stories of life’s experiences!

Sun After Dark is a project by Benjamin König from Germany. Benjamin König was a founding member of the Black Metal band Lunar Aurora (1994-2012). There he was mainly responsible for the composition of 9 albums and various compilations. With Sun After Dark he has now created his own debut album entitled „Tatkraft“ (German word for drive/energy/moxie).

The music on “Tatkraft” is a mixture of modern elements, Black Metal, dark tones, heavy guitars, powerful moods and a small pinch of legends. Life consists of stories, experiences and episodes. Mastering it often requires Tatkraft. This album is about such experiences and stories. Implemented with Tatkraft! The lyrics are in English, German and Bavarian dialect. Since Benjamin König comes from Upper Bavaria, it was appropriate to use his native dialect in some song passages. Produced by Victor Bullok (Triptykon) in the Woodshed Studio, autumn 2024.

As part of their collaboration, Thomas Helm and Benjamin König decided to continue this project together in the future. So after the album “Tatkraft” it is now a duo project. Sun After Dark is purely a studio project and is not planning any concerts. Those involved in this project have their own well-known bands and can also be seen on stage there.

Sun After Dark

Sun After Dark
Hailing from Bavaria, Germany Sun After Dark would best be described as progressive Darker Metal with elements of Black and Atmospheric Metal added, but we strongly believe it is something fresh, new and unheard off. Benjamin’s band features members that have earned their marks in bands like Empyrium and Dark Fortress. And the icing on the cake are the phenomenal production values, “Tatkraft” (German for drive/energy) was recorded by Victor Bullok (of Tryptikon) at Woodshed Studios (Tryptikon, Dark Fortress) and sounds like a clock.

This album contains no booklet.
