OUU!D is possibly the last living fax machine. It consists of 3 people. When it is turned on, it prints dance music for all body types. With an unorthodox instrumentation of bass clarinet, reed trumpet and tabletop guitar, OUU!D manages to create a strangely danceable, genre-defying music, evoking a dislocated and pulverized version of club culture and noise music played on amplified instruments. This album is a live recording of a concert in the now defunct and soon to be demolished music venue Indu9 in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Felix Nussbaumer, reed trumpet
Niklaus Mäder, bass clarinet
Noah Punkt, electric guitar
Please Note: We offer this album in its native sampling rate of 48kHz, 24-bit. The provided 96kHz version was up-sampled and offers no audible value!
OUU!D
is a collaborative project between the musicians Felix Nussbaumer (IT), Niklaus Mäder (CH) and Noah Punkt (DE) that concerns itself with finding a unique sonic language rooted in, yet beyond the structures and idioms of both Jazz as well as European free improvisation. Drawing influences from contemporary instrumental music, modular ambient drones, and sampling and chopping techniques used in hiphop, they create structures that twitch in unusual grooves, somehow soft and breathing yet machinic, but always weirdly head-boppable, almost like dancing to a fax machine or a printer.
