Info for Sad Songs for the Soul

Kameron Marlowe is set to release his highly anticipated project ‘Sad Songs For The Soul' on February 21. This deeply emotional album, produced by Ben West, features 10 tracks designed to create a cathartic experience for listeners as it delves into the complexities of heartbreak.

“I’ve had these songs for a while now, but I was never sure if I wanted to actually release them all,” Marlowe shared. “I kept coming back to the idea of doing a concept record of only sad songs but was honestly nervous that it might be too different from what fans are used to hearing from me. I wanted to push the boundaries a little and put out an unexpected, soulful, stripped project full of heartbreak at all stages in life. Ben West produced the project, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how it turned out. You can really feel the pain behind each song, and I hope fans enjoy this new side.” (Kameron Marlowe)

With a voice that resonates like thunder in the heart of Nashville, Kameron Marlowe is hailed as one of Country music's most thrilling voices. He's been through some changes in his 27 years, from adapting to life on the road to achieving RIAA Platinum-certified status and gracing stages alongside Country music juggernauts. Raised in Kannapolis, N.C, Marlowe's musical journey began in church choirs and high school bands. He later enrolled in college but eventually moved back home to help support his family. During this time, Marlowe gained traction online with his music, driving him to make the move to Music City.

His self-written viral hit "Giving You Up," born from personal heartache, catapulted him into the spotlight before striking a deal with Sony Music Nashville. His debut album We Were Cowboys followed suit and garnered both critical acclaim and GOLD and PLATINUM certified tracks, earning him recognition from industry tastemakers and streaming platforms alike. As his profile has grown, he's sold out headlining shows coast to coast and has toured with the likes of Thomas Rhett, Riley Green, Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson. He's known for delivering high impact performances, with all the energy of a true rock show.

His evolution further unfolded on his sophomore album, 16-track output, Keepin' The Lights On. The scope and maturity of the album establish him as a true force in today's Country music-a triple-threat singer, songwriter, and performer blazing his own path, marked by his distinctively soulful and resonant vocals. It's a journey that delves deep into the human experience, touching on themes of mental health, battling feelings of inadequacy and the relentless pursuit of success. Marlowe lays it all on the line, revealing vulnerability in a way he's never done before. Rooted in unapologetic risk, fueled by vulnerability, and thoughtfully presented in concept like a perfect setlist from start to finish, Marlowe achieves connection through a ride of uniqueness that swerves the normal comfort zone. His sophomore album, developed from over 200 shows in the last two years, is the culmination of Marlowe's steadfast dedication, and fans will soon see first-hand his tireless commitment to his craft, not only on the road, but also in the studio. "If I can continue to be this personal in my writing, I feel like it will connect to people in a deeper way," he shares. "That's all I want to do. And when you go deeper with yourself, you can connect deeper with other people."

Kameron Marlowe

Kameron Marlowe
Singer/songwriter and country powerhouse Kameron Marlowe is one of the country scene's up-and-coming artists with almost a billion streams and a steadily growing fan base. Known for a sound of edgy twang, dark rock nuances and a touch of bluesy tenderness as well as lyrics full of unvarnished truth, he first appeared as a candidate in the 15th season of "The Voice". In 2019, the artist, who is signed to Columbia Nashville, released the single "Giving You Up", which led to both his breakthrough and a platinum award. Now he is coming to Germany for the first time for a single show and will win many new fans in Cologne on December 10, 2024 with his rousing live performance.

Kameron Marlowe was born in North Carolina and grew up in a musical family. Inspired by different styles of music, he formed a high school band. When his mother was diagnosed with a degenerative back injury, he dropped out of college and worked as an auto parts salesman to support her while pursuing his music career. He gained attention through social media and competed on the TV show “The Voice,” where he competed on Blake Shelton and Adam Levine's teams before being eliminated in the live playoffs. In 2019, he moved to Nashville and released the hit single “Giving You Up,” which can be found on his 2020 self-titled EP. The EP reached Billboard's Hot Country Top 40, and KAMERON opened major shows for well-known artists such as Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs. That same year, he signed a recording contract with Columbia Nashville and released the singles “Girl on Fire” and “Steady Heart,” both of which appeared on his 2022 debut album, “We Were Cowboys.” In 2023, he played over 100 shows, including more than 30 headline dates, which were extended into 2024 due to popular demand.

Kameron Marlowe's highly anticipated second album "Keepin' The Lights On" was released in May 2024. The powerful and soulful singer had already caused a stir with the pre-released singles. From the ballad "Strangers" with Ella Langley to the love letter "Quit You" to his fiancée, MARLOWE let his fans know that this album would be something special. "These songs are the journey of the last 2 years full of love, loss and growth. I hope you can identify with them, no matter what part of the journey you are on." The album provides deep insights into his world - from love for his future wife to childhood memories - and gives the feeling of witnessing his development from boy to man.

Along with the new tour, the artist has launched the "Keepin' The Lights On (KTLO) Fund," which aims to ease the burdens of those struggling to make ends meet and ensure a better future for those in need by paying utility bills, and purchasing shoes, clothing, food, and other necessities. With every ticket sold, a dollar goes to the fund. Marlowe says of the initiative, "The KTLO Fund is very special to me. In the song, I sing about how my parents made sure we had shoes on our feet and food on our plates. Times are tough and I wanted to give back."
