Info for Felice Giardini: Galante

Duo Giardini, made up of violinist Luiz Amato and cellist Adriana Holtz, presents the album GALANTE, dedicated to the compositions of the renowned Italian Felice Giardini, one of the greatest representatives of the galante style. The second single, Duo for Violin and Cello No. 2 in F Major: I. Andante, stands out for requiring technically impeccable playing, which excels in the intimate interaction between the instruments. This connection reveals all the idiomatic beauty of the style, providing a unique and enriching listening experience.

Formed by violinist Luiz Amato and cellist Adriana Holtz, Duo Giardini presents the album GALANTE. With works by the Italian composer Felice Giardini, an exponent of the so-called ‘galante style’, the album captures the quintessence of this musical movement, which emerged as an evolution of the contrapuntal complexity of the late Baroque period - already under the strong influence of the Enlightenment - but which stands out for its search for simplicity, clarity and melodic beauty.

Luiz Amato, violin
Adriana Holtz, cello
