Info for VIER EINHALB
Max Giesinger returns with his fifth studio album, "Glück auf den Strassen" (Luck on the Streets), available everywhere from September 26, 2025. The album features 13 tracks, including the previously released singles "Menschen" (People), "Butterfly Effect," and "Wimpernschlag" (Eyelash), as well as many other musical highlights.
Songs have a story. Take "Wimpernschlag," for example, Max Giesinger's new single. When he wrote it, he had a fantastic, all-nighter in his head on Hamburg's Reeperbahn, with a purple sunrise at the fish market overlooking the Elbe River and an incredibly good Police cover band in the fish auction hall, where three guys in their sixties were rocking out at 5:30 in the morning.
And Max, who was standing next to someone he really cared about, closed his eyes for a moment, opened them again, and thought: How awesome is that?! Not the big picture, not yesterday, not tomorrow, but now, this moment. "Everything I need is here," he sings, "in just the blink of an eye." Songs have a feeling that lies behind the story, and that's usually much more important than the story itself.
The feeling behind "Blink of an Eye" is... let's say: perfection. Not in the sense of: It couldn't be better, but in the sense of: Nothing bothers you. Not that constant mental chatter that also accompanies Max in his life, no self-doubt, no constant judgment that one is inevitably subjected to as a public figure. No, just me and you and a moment in which everything else is very far away. Anyone who wants to can interpret "Blink of an Eye" as a love song. "That's fine," says Max, "I did have a specific person in mind when I wrote it. But it's also a song about friendship and connection, about sharing special moments."
And that's why it's no coincidence that he has Johannes Oerding with him; the song works even better as a duo. Max Giesinger and Oerding have been really good friends since he was the opening act on Johannes' tour ten years ago. The two have spent many a night together since then, often capturing that fleeting feeling of "Wimpernschlag" (Blink of an Eye): Everything is alright. At least right now, here and now.
"I'm super happy with this song," says Max, "because it perfectly reflects what's going on inside me right now." He means this feeling of being at peace with himself, which feels incredibly good and suits him perfectly. But what he also means is that he's gotten a step closer to the sound he wants to convey. The anthems like "80 Millionen" (80 Million) and "Wenn sie tanzt" (When She Dances) had their time, and they remain in his life, which is a good thing. But "Wimpernschlag" (Eyelash) is a first highlight in the new era of musician Max Giesinger. It won't be the last.

Max Giesinger
