Info for Candide

Mario Bočić is our noted saxophonist and composer, and "Candide" is his debut author's album created in collaboration with the HRT Jazz Orchestra.

"Candide" was released on all digital platforms at the end of last year, and was recorded in 2022 in the HRT studios under the baton of Miron Hauser. The realization of this great music project was realized in the co-publishing of Croatia Records and HRT.

Bočić and the HRT Jazz Orchestra will perform at the Komedija Club (ex Kontesa) on Thursday, February 15, starting at 8 p.m., where they will also promote the new album, and admission is free.

"Candide" or optimism, was Bočić's light motive and guiding thought when creating this unique edition, in order to bring a touch of optimism to the world through his music. The album, which contains seven songs composed by Bočić himself and arranged by Luka Žužić, Emiliano Sampaio, Miron Hauser and Štěpánka Balcarová, will soon be available on vinyl.

Mario Bočić is a saxophonist whose virtuosity and unique tone stand out among talented musicians on the domestic jazz scene. The award-winning musician, trained in Graz and Klagenfurt (classical and jazz saxophone), is a participant in a number of projects and ensembles and has been a permanent member of HRT's Jazz Orchestra for over ten years.
