Info for Shout

To fully tell the story of Hardline's new studio album, 'Shout', a reference to their 1992 classic, 'Double Eclipse', is essential. It was then that the unique artistic DNA of this fabulous hard rock band was created and virtually perfected with the very first draft. Since then, Hardline have released six more studio albums, all highlights of the genre. With 'Shout', the group, featuring American singer Johnny Gioeli (Axel Rudi Pell, Crush 40) and his Italian colleagues – keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio, guitarist Luca Princiotta, bassist Anna Portalupi, and drummer Marco Di Salvia – picks up where their '92 masterpiece left off more effectively than ever before. “On our latest album, you’ll find the catchy choruses and classic songwriting of ‘Double Eclipse,’ but with a contemporary production and a modern sound. The album gives you the feeling of rolling down your car window and turning the radio up as loud as possible,” Johnny Gioeli describes the ten new songs, adding: “This band isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. Hardline are Hardline, and as a fan, you know what to expect from us!”

“Shout” is the eighth album from this melodic rock sensation.

"It's great that Johnny Gioeli, in addition to his work with Axel Rudi Pell, still finds time for his own band, Hardline. Parallels are almost inevitable, as both approaches fish in similar waters, differing only in their focus. Much like Axel Rudi Pell, Hardline's latest release, Shout, is anything but a bad album. It offers well-crafted rock music, ranging from hard-hitting hard rock to ballad-like AOR, always catchy and melodic. The Hardline and Johnny Gioeli fanbases will be fully satisfied with the new record. The band delivers their expected trademarks and avoids experimentation. Which brings us full circle back to Axel Rudi Pell. Of course, Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell albums have their merits, but are largely predictable, so it's more like Grandma's cake, which, while delicious every Easter, ultimately becomes repetitive. Die-hard fans can buy it without hesitation." Those looking for more innovation will find more interesting material from young, up-and-coming bands." (time-for-metal.eu)

Hardline
is an American rock band that was formed in 1992. Known for their blend of hard rock and melodic metal, they initially gained attention with their debut album Double Eclipse in 1992. The band’s original lineup featured powerhouse vocalist Johnny Gioeli, guitarist Neal Schon (from Journey), and drummer Deen Castronovo (also from Journey). This star-studded formation contributed to the band’s early success and gave their music a polished, commercial sound.

Double Eclipse featured several hits, including the popular songs “Hot Cherie” and “Takin’ Me Down,” which helped to establish Hardline’s reputation as a band capable of delivering catchy, yet hard-hitting rock anthems. The album’s mix of melodic hooks and powerful vocals created a distinctive sound that resonated with fans of both arena rock and melodic metal.

However, after the initial success of Double Eclipse, the band faced lineup changes and periods of inactivity. Despite this, Johnny Gioeli remained at the forefront of Hardline, and the band continued to release albums, including II (2002), Leaving the End Open (2009), Danger Zone (2012), Life (2016) and Heart Mind and Soul (2021). These albums showed the band’s evolution while retaining their signature style of melodic, hard-hitting rock, and Gioeli’s unmistakable voice.

Hardline’s sound is often characterized by its energetic blend of melodic rock, powerful vocals, and classic rock influences. Over the years, they’ve maintained a loyal fan base despite lineup changes, and their music continues to reflect their roots in the 1980s and 1990s hard rock and melodic metal scenes.

The band remains active today, known for their passionate live performances and their ability to create music that resonates with fans of classic hard rock and modern melodic metal alike.
