Info for Place Ste-Opportune

Musician, radio man, teacher, Thomas Curbillon was born into a family of artists who also fed, at night, on jazz that makes java. With this very first album Place Sainte-Opportune, of which he wrote the score on texts in French by Gaëlle Renard, he winks at his masters, Charles Aznavour and Henri Salvador. If his velvet voice recalls that of the latter, his rhythm is sometimes akin to the singularities of a Nougaro. Carried by very prominent jazz musicians such as pianist Eric Legnini, double bassist Thomas Bramerie and drummer Antoine Paganotti, Thomas Curbillon evolves with grace on the arrangements of Pierre Bertrand who gives the music the scale of a big band where the trumpeter and buglist Stéphane Belmondo invites himself.
