Info for thank u, next
Just six months after the release of Sweetener, Ariana Grande is back with a new full-length album.
The pop star, 25, dropped her highly anticipated fifth record, thank u, next, on Friday — and it comes following an intense period that saw her confronting the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller in September, splitting with fiancé Pete Davidson in October and finding strength with her friends in her latest single, “7 rings”
The album opens with “imagine,” which was released as a single two months ago, before Grande introduces eight new tracks, many of which seem to cover the emotional — and at times, physical — process of moving on after love and loss.
In “needy,” she sings about “loving too hard” and being “messed up,” while in “bad idea” she says, “Even though we shouldn’t, baby boy, we will/Need somebody, gimme something I can feel.”
Other songs, including “in my head” and “bloodline,” notably feature appearances from Grande’s closest confidants including pal Doug Middlebrook and her nonna Majorie Grande.
Ariana Grande
With her powerful voice and extraordinary vocal range, Ariana Grande is regarded as one of the most successful pop artists of our time. A singer, actress, and former Broadway star, Ariana Grande has won countless awards and has graced the covers of *Vogue* and *TIME* magazine. With consistent precision, she has transcended genres—drawing on elements of pop, R&B, soul, and electronic music—to create something unmistakably new.
*Yours Truly*, her 2013 debut album, spawned the groundbreaking, triple-platinum smash hit "The Way" (feat. Mac Miller) and showcased her incredible vocal versatility. Since then, the superstar has been inundated with awards and accolades. Her very second album, *My Everything*, earned her a Grammy nomination.
Her latest album, *Positions*, also stormed straight to number one on the US charts. The singles "Positions" and "34+35" were massive chart successes. The latter even appeared in a remix featuring superstars Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, quickly skyrocketing in popularity on the platform TikTok.
