Info for A Future Past

Two years after releasing his latest album, electronic musician Keenhouse returns to the fold with “Argon Decibel”, the introductory single for his third LP to date. Memories of tomorrow, sci-fi surrealism and futuristic impressionism are the main inspirations that define “A Future Past”, his new album. “I started to work on this album right after my last production. At that time I wanted to try something different musically, observing music and sound from a visual perspective”, Keenhouse affirms.

The official first single “Argon Decibel” clearly depicts that artistic and human metamorphosis Keenhouse is experimenting with his new production, a powerful transition to acoustic instruments combined with synthetic sounds, which unquestionably is an inherent part of Keenhouse’s style. “There are strings and brass sections that I wanted to incorporate for a long time, acoustic instruments that for me can't ever be replaced by any machine or synthesizer. Those classical sounds combined with electronic music can create this sort of juxtaposition, which I like to experiment with”, says Keenhouse.

For the release of his new album, Keenhouse has joined forces with Shinya Sato, a multimedia artist based in Japan who has created videos for internationally acclaimed music groups including Chateau Marmont -Parisian band who created remixes for LadyHawke, La Roux, Heartsrevolution , and Röyksopp- . Shinya is currently working on what is to become the artwork for “A Future Past”, and also serving as the video director for the introductory single, “Argon Decibel”.

Ken Rangkuty (Keenhouse)
is an electronic musician and producer based in Los Angeles, California. Ken was born in 1981 in Giessen, Germany. Raised by a family formed of pianists and sculpture artists, Rangkuty spent his childhood between Germany and Indonesia where he connected with eastern and western music. This wide spectrum of different cultures and artistic disciplines inspired him to create his own musical projects, a unique and distinctive blend of traditional instruments and modern electronic sounds. Keenhouse - his personal synonym of curiosity and exploration is the accumulation of those influences.

Ken Rangkuty started his musical career in Germany where he first contributed to numerous productions as an instrumentalist. In 2001 Ken Rangkuty moved to Los Angeles in search for an environment where he could expand his artistic goals and work closely together with like-minded artists. Soon after his arrival, Rangkuty started collaborating with Los Angeles-based and international artists, including New Age Pioneer Osamu Kitajima, Multi- Platinum music producer John Ryan (Santana, Styx, Allman Brothers, Ike & TinaTurner), Van Dyke Parks (The Beach Boys, Randy Newman), Latin composer and author Carlos Campos (Karmen Z, José Liriano), and MTV ‘Jackass’ personality Steve O. He has written and produced a number of songs for clients including dance EP releases and remixes for DJ Kaskade, Swiss New Wave Duo Division Kent (Sony), West Indian Girl (Astralwerks), Ceci Bastida, and KCRW radio DJ Raul Campos.

Keenhouse has had the privilege to write music for Microsoft's Vanishing Point Gamewhich, which was produced by 42 Entertainment. The game won the prestigious W3 Gold Award, HOW Interactive Design Merit Award, W3 Silver Award, Davey Award, and the Webby Award "Official Honoree".

Besides his many productions and work on other projects, Ken eventually decided to release his own musical productions. “Civic Transit” (Sunlinxx Records/Binary Records) was released in 2008, both in The US and Japan. In 2012 Keenhouse released “Four Dreams” (Sunlinxx Records/Binary Records). Both albums allowed Keenhouse to perform in several countries including Japan, Indonesia, Europe, and Canada.
