One of the most exciting and charismatic voices in the new wave of indie, Lil Julez has been gaining international attention since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album It Was A Hoax (2023). Driven by electrifying live performances and backed by a band that matches his intensity on stage, he has quickly built a reputation as a captivating and emotionally charged performer.

With his new album single “Lovebyte,” Lil Julez returns with a striking vocal performance that highlights both his charisma and remarkable songwriting talent. The track also introduces one of the central themes of his upcoming second album „Pleasurecruise“, set for release in June 2026. “The song explores romantic relationships between humans and computers, inspired by the tragic story of Sewell Setzer, who took his own life after a relationship with a chatbot.”

Blending a deliberately trashy aesthetic inspired by the ’60s and ’90s with the contemporary sound of Gen Z indie, the 26-year-old artist stands out through his unmistakable voice and an instinctive feel for bold, memorable melodies.

His debut album and its accompanying singles received widespread radio support across Europe. In Austria, he entered the FM4 charts straight into the Top 10. As a live act, he has already impressed audiences across major stages, performing as support for acts such as Geese from New York and The Godfathers, as well as at festivals including Lido Sounds and Waves Vienna.

With Pleasurecruise, Lil Julez takes a decisive artistic step forward. “For the first time, we recorded the songs as a full band. Over time, we really grew into a strong live act, and we wanted to capture that raw, live energy on record,” he says. Embracing imperfection as part of the process, he adds, “not every detail here is polished or perfect, it’s more about the feeling than the precision.”

The album’s title reflects a deeply personal creative process: “‘Pleasurecruise’ represents the flow state I could dive into while writing these songs. It became an escape during a very difficult period in my life, a space where I could build my own world and disappear into it, even if just for a few minutes.”
