Info for All You Can Beat

For 20 years, the percussion duo DOUBLE DRUMS has been thrilling audiences on stages in Germany, Europe, and far beyond. The two trained multi-percussionists have made a name for themselves with awards such as the prestigious Bavarian Art Promotion Prize and over 4 million YouTube clicks.

Their new album “All you can BEAT” promises a unique percussion experience. The duo transforms everyday objects such as garbage cans, gas cans, and traffic signs into rousing beats. At the same time, they shed new light on the entire world of percussion instruments, from vibraphones to marimbas. They present their own compositions, but also world hits such as Enjoy the Silence, Nothing Else Matters, and film music from Das Boot and Star Wars in completely new and surprising versions.

Alex Glöggler and Philipp Jungk turn your stage into a place where the rhythm of everyday life becomes a mesmerizing symphony. The energy and enthusiasm of the two likeable drummers is transferred to the audience from the very first second, regardless of age.

It is this mix of impressive precision, inventiveness, and captivating entertainment that makes the Double Drums program perhaps the most varied percussion show in Europe—it is, as the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper titled it, simply “More than just boom-boom-chak.”

Double Drums

Double Drums
In the beginning, there was rhythm—that's how it was for the two of them. Even as children, Philipp Jungk and Alex Glöggler searched the kitchen for pots and pans and built a small drum set out of them—basically, they still do the same thing today :-)

They met while studying percussion at the Munich University of Music, soon played over 100 concerts in social institutions for the association “Live Music Now” founded by Yehudi Menuhin, and were able to expand their musical spectrum once again. During their studies, they played in large orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, in bands, and began to write their own music.

Since 2005, they have been touring worldwide in major concert halls (including the Elbphilharmonie), city halls, and cultural centers, at the EXPO in Milan, and have also presented their music in South America and China.
They have been guests on major TV shows on ARD and ZDF, performed live at the Bavarian Film Awards, and have over 4 million YouTube clicks, which speaks for itself.

The multi-award-winning percussion duo has performed with artists as diverse as Sol Gabetta, Florian Silbereisen, Thilo Wolf, and as soloists with the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Chemnitz, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, and the Hof Symphony Orchestra, and have played at numerous festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, and the Hong Kong Arts Festival.

Double Drums blurs the boundaries between classical music, groove, sophistication, and entertainment, for which they were awarded the Bavarian Culture Prize by the State Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts.

Since 2016, the two have put together four full-length shows: “Groove Symphonies” (2016), their Christmas concert “Groovin' Christmas - the x-mas Percussion Show” (2018), and their program “Beat Rhapsody” (2019). Since 2025, the two have been performing on stage with their new program “All you can BEAT.”

In addition to their concert tours, they want to inspire enthusiasm for music, especially among children. In addition to family concerts, they have given well over 100 workshops on everyday objects and regular concerts in schools.

"It is important to us that people experience what you can do with rhythm and how versatile a percussion show is. Our fun and enthusiasm for what we do is transmitted to the audience, whether young or old, and delights people all over the world.“ Quote Glöggler

The Berlin Tagesspiegel writes: ”As thrilling as some of the standard Asian drum shows may be, the ultimate percussion spectacle currently comes from Munich."
