Kerstin Petersen
is internationally active as a performer specializing in new organ music. Based in Hamburg, she creatively engages the organ – a rich and traditional instrument – with contemporary themes. Collaborating with composers worldwide, she regularly commissions and premieres new works, bringing them to life on organ stages. Recent premieres include pieces by Daniel Smutny, Rikako Watanabe, Fabian Otten, Eloain Lovis Hübner, and Alyssa Aska.

Kerstin Petersen has performed at renowned venues and festivals, including the Freie Akademie der Künste Hamburg, TONALI, Stralsunder Orgeltage, Mercatorhalle Duisburg, Orgelpark Amsterdam, Göteborg International Organ Academy, as well as festivals such as Frequenz_, BRANDNEU, and Musik 21 Niedersachsen, where she also served as a jury member for the 2024 composition competition.

Her artistic collaborations include performing with accordionist Eva Zöllner in Duo A&O, percussionist Lin Chen in Duo DRUMS & PIPES, and Ada Namani in Duo ORGAN meets GONG. Kerstin Petersen is also the creative force and artistic director behind innovative concert projects such as Nur einmal glücklich sein – Orgelmusik von Komponistinnen (2021) and Der Hölle Nachklang (2024), a collaboration with soprano Frauke Aulbert.

Additionally, she champions the publication of new organ works by women composers.
