Info for III (Deluxe Edition)

III is the third studio album by DEMONS & WIZARDS, one of the most legendary collaborations in heavy metal history! DEMONS & WIZARDS are Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) & Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth), who celebrated a triumphant return in 2019 at festivals like Wacken, Hellfest, Sweden Rock, Graspop Metal Meeting, Copenhell, Barcelona Rock Fest, toured North America for the first time ever and left audiences stunned and begging for a new record.

Now, III offering a 65 minutes long monument of dynamic and powerful heavy metal that simply has all you would expect from these iconic musicians! It is epic, melodic, heavy, atmospheric, and all in between. “We have grown indeed”, Schaffer says, “and that will be obvious from the first listen. You will hear classic and progressive rock influences, but it is a pure heavy metal album through and through. A journey of epic proportions!” Hansi Kuersch adds, “This third album is the peak of our career for sure. Mark my words, you will love this album!”

Demons & Wizards is one of the most legendary collaborations in the history of heavy metal, uniting the talents of Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) and Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) who are friends for nearly three decades.

Demons & Wizards musically embodies both musician’s stylistic trademarks and has resulted so far in two hugely celebrated studio albums, 2000’s »Demons & Wizards« and 2005’s »Touched by the Crimson King«. Both records have been reissued in 2019 on time with the group’s extremely successful return to the world’s stages.

Demons & Wizards presented an impressive stage production and intense sets, toured North America for the first time, performed at renowned festivals such as Wacken Open Air (DE), Hellfest (F), Sweden Rock (SE), GMM (BE), Barcelona Rock Fest (ES), Copenhell (DK), Chania Rock (GR), Metaldays (SI) as well as shows in Moscow, London and many more.

Now, the band presents »III«, a stunning monument of dynamic and powerful heavy metal that simply has all you would expect from these iconic musicians! »III« is epic, melodic, crushingly heavy, atmospheric, and all in between.

Demons & Wizards

Demon & Wizards
is a power metal band that was conceived as a side project of the metal bands Blind Guardian and Iced Earth. It is made up of the vocalist for Blind Guardian, Hansi Kursch, and the guitarist of Iced Earth, Jon Schaffer. Schaffer writes the music and Kürsch writes the lyrics. The band's line-up during the recording of their first album in 1999 also featured Mark Prator, who was the drummer on a few Iced Earth albums, and Jim Morris doing most of the guitar solos, Morris also having worked with Iced Earth in the past.

The original goal of the band was to forge the different musical styles of both Iced Earth's dark melodies and Blind Guardian's powerful vocals into one sound. In fact, according to the musicians, the band name is meant to describe the two styles: the self-proclaimed demon-like themes and sounds of Iced Earth and wizard-like themes and sounds of Blind Guardian (the moniker "Demons & Wizards" was inspired by Schaffer's wife always referring to him and Hansi as "Demons and Angels". Hansi always corrected her, since he claims to "not be at all angelic", and that it is more properly stated "Demons and Wizards", in reference to Uriah Heep's album of the same name). The band met with a fair deal of commercial success, though not as much as either of their individual bands.

The idea for the band arose in the spring of 1997 when Kürsch and Schaffer wanted to make music together, after being friends for several years.

This album contains no booklet.
