Maestro Solzhenitsyn conducts the works of Carl Maria von Weber. Weber’s music – such as the Konzertstück for Piano and Orchestra in F Minor, J. 282, Op. 79, featuring pianist Anna Polonsky – influenced such composers as Chopin, Liszt, Stravinsky and Mendelssohn. The Overture to Der Freischütz, J. 277 - Weber’s operas had a tremendous impact on the development of Romantic opera in Germany. Chamber Orchestra principal bassoon Michelle Rosen is the featured soloist in the Bassoon Concerto in F Major, J. 127, Op. 75. This recording is also featuring Weber’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major, J. 50, Op. 19.
