Info for Be Sweet To Me

Violet Grohl, one of the most exciting voices of her generation, is releasing her debut studio album, ‘Be Sweet To Me’. The debut, which comprises 11 unique tracks, including previously released singles such as ‘Thum’, ‘Applefish’ and “595”, is characterised by her unmistakable indie-alternative style, which is peppered with heavy rock influences and her self-created aesthetic, described as ‘Farm Goth’. Amidst loud, raw and at times explosive sounds, Violet Grohl’s distinctive and moving voice weaves its way into the rougher tones in a dreamy and playful manner.

It’s a collection of songs that pulls from many of the bands from the 80s and 90s that Violet spent her childhood falling in love with, serving as a chance for her to pay tribute to the sounds that made her.

As she explains, “There’s something so powerful about that period of music, from the messaging to the visuals, it’s authentic and raw. Pixies, Soundgarden, Cocteau Twins, The Breeders, PJ Harvey, The Muffs, Björk, Alice in Chains, L7, Juliana Hatfield: I’ve listened to that stuff since I was a kid.”

"A debut record is one of the toughest releases an act can bring out, as it's the first full opportunity to seize all on one's own and have a choice of tracks to fill it to give a first impression of who they are, what they are all about, and what they wish to bring to an always-evolving ever-creating industry that will make them stand out among the rest. Be Sweet To Me was Violet Grohl's introduction to the wider audience of the music world, and with the variety she has brought to it, she has made it clear what she is after and what she wants to tell everyone. She is headstrong yet in tune with her thoughts and emotions; someone who can break the walls down but build defence if she needs; someone who has seen so much in such a short life, and has rolled with every punch so far to make it to this point.

Seeing the record out with the therapeutic near-bare "Pool Of My Dreams" and acoustic-to-electric grand finale of "Plastic Couch", Grohl has achieved what she hoped to. She told her stories, brought her soul to the forefront, and with bringing her own individual flavours to the masterpiece, she also gave tribute to the ones who came before her. The ones who made ran a path to allow fresh blood like herself to walk. She's even pleading for understanding and acceptance in the title." (Jo Cosgrove, whenthehornblows.com)

Violet Grohl
born April 15, 2006, is the eldest daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and filmmaker Jordyn Blum, emerging as a talented singer following in her father's rock footsteps. She debuted publicly at age 12 in 2018, performing Adele's "When We Were Young" with her father at a charity concert, and has since joined Foo Fighters onstage for covers like "Everlong" and Nirvana's "All Apologies" at reunion events, including Glastonbury 2023 where she featured on their single "Show Me How.". In December 2025, the 19-year-old released her first solo singles "THUM" and "Applefish," signaling her independent alt-rock career amid ongoing collaborations and live performances.
