Info for Chemical Light

An engaging live performer, Edwards recently joined Myles Smith on the European leg of his tour and has shared stages with Of Monsters and Men and Twenty One Pilots. This fall, she’ll join Michelle Branch for select dates alongside her extensive “Greetings From Bleak Street Tour,” with headline stops at New York’s Mercury Lounge, Washington, D.C.’s Songbyrd, Chicago’s Schubas, Denver’s Globe Hall and Los Angeles’ The Echo, among many others. See below for the complete tour itinerary.

Originally from a small town in northern Indiana and now based in Nashville, Edwards continues to establish herself as a distinctive new voice in the indie-pop space. Greetings From Bleak St. follows her 2025 debut EP, good girls, which together have led Edwards to more than 110 million career streams across platforms. Last month, Edwards was selected as a Spotify U.S. EQUAL Ambassador, joining the platform’s global initiative to advance equity and representation for women in music.

Josie Edwards
Sometimes things happen fast—and that’s certainly the case for Josie Edwards. Before the release of her debut single in June 2024, few people likely knew the name of this singer-songwriter from Indiana. With her second song, "good girls," released in May 2025, she achieved her breakthrough; the track racked up over 4 million streams on Spotify in just two weeks, propelling her sound to a global audience in no time. In September, she followed up with an EP of the same name—a major statement from the young artist, whose lead track has since surpassed 16 million streams. Now, Josie Edwards is taking the next significant step in her career by heading to Europe for her first-ever tour. In late October, she will play two intimate shows in Germany: one at the YARD Club in Cologne and another at the Marmorbar in Berlin.

In many ways, her story follows a familiar narrative: hailing from a small town in northern Indiana, Josie Edwards began making music at a young age before moving to a big city to pursue a professional career. She settled in Nashville, Tennessee—the heart of country music, famously known as "Music City"—to study songwriting at Belmont University. Nashville has played a pivotal role in the careers of countless world-renowned artists, and its influence on the young songwriter’s music is evident as early as her debut single, "The Great Escape." While her sound is clearly shaped by folk and subtle country influences, her vocals anchor it in a modern, emotive pop aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from artists like Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, and Bob Dylan, Josie Edwards combines catchy melodies with deeply felt storytelling. This is also true of her narrative-driven second single, “good girls,” which—with its subtle banjo accompaniment and the singer-songwriter’s vulnerable vocals—brought her early viral success and, with it, her breakthrough. Following the success of that track, Josie Edwards released “Mary Beth’s Eulogy,” an acoustic version of the song accompanied by two short musical snippets, before further solidifying her sound on the single “high hope.” This track served as a final preview of her debut EP, *good girls*, which includes three additional songs: the driving tracks “Kerosene” and “New House,” as well as “kitchen light,” which features a symphonic backdrop.
