Chris Gall is originally from Munich, Germany, but surely is none of the German musicians grounded to this territory alone. For his studies, he chose the Berklee College of Music in Boston. With his last two albums which came out with the famous label ACT, he somehow reinvented the classic piano trio by adding the hypnotic voice of singer ENIK (they massively toured Europe and the big festivals (Montreux etc.) and were very well received by the critis).

Chris Gall is always in search of new terrains, never standing still in a specific style or genre. His strategy: „I love rules. You have to be able to completely rule the rules to finally break them and let them go.“ With his album „Solo Piano“ he for sure has created some new rules by directly and constantly breaking them throughout this phenomenal record.

Chris Gall
Jahrgang 1975, studierte am renommierten Berklee College of Music in Boston, das schon Jazz- und Popgrößen wie Branford Marsalis, Melissa Etheridge, Brad Mehldau, Bill Frisell u.v.a. ausgebildet hat.

Stilistisch im Jazz verwurzelt, machte er sich rasch einen Namen auch in anderen Genres, als Pianist der brasilianischen Giana Viscardi Group oder als Sideman von „Taalism“ um Sitarmeister Shakir Khan. Er spielte mit den Großen des Fachs, unter anderem mit den New York Voices, Nils Landgren, Kai Eckhard, Dusko Goykovic und De-Phazz Sänger Karl Frierson zahlreiche Konzerte in Europa, Indien, Latein- und Südamerika und Japan.

2007 erschien sein Trio Album „Climbing Up“ bei ACT, 2010 beim gleichen Label der Nachfolger „Hello Stranger“. Beide Alben begeisterten die Kritik, ausgedehnte Tourneen führten Gall und sein Trio mit Gastsänger Enik unter anderem zum Jazzfestival Montreux, zur Jazzkaar nach Tallinn/Estland den Stuttgarter Jazzopen, zu Jazzbaltica und ins Wiener Konzerthaus. Des Weiteren ist er festes Mitglied der Jazz-Soul-Formation The Hi-Fly Orchestra und spielte 2014 beim Ciclo de Música Negra in Santander, Spaniens größtem Soul und Funk Festival. Im Duo zusammen mit dem Gitarristen Andreas Dombert gab er 2014 auch sein Debüt beim Jazzfest Bonn (aktuelle CD: „Duo“, Acoustic Music).

Anfang 2014 reiste er als Gastmusiker mit den mehrfachen ECHO-Gewinnern Quadro Nuevo für 2 Wochen nach Buenos Aires und ist in Folge bei den CD Aufnahmen zur neuen Quadro Nuevo CD „Tango!“ als Pianist, Komponist und Arrangeur beteiligt. Die bevorstehende CD-Release Tournee wird von Chris Gall als special guest begleitet. „Piano Solo“ ist Galls erstes Piano-Solo-Projekt.
