With his second album, Another Dawn, the young German violinist Tassilo Probst continues his impressive artistic journey while also breaking new ground. Following his internationally acclaimed debut, Into Madness, which was named Best Chamber Music CD of the Year at the 2022 International Classical Music Awards, Probst now turns his attention to a programme that is as challenging as it is fascinating, together with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Geiss. The focus is on the violin concerto by Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957), the third violin concerto by Joseph Achron (1886-1943) and the contemporary work ‘Lamento’ by Christos Samaras (*1956).

Tassilo Probst
is without a doubt one of the most promising musicians of his generation. He is known for his multi-faceted performance of exceptional virtuosity, emotional depth and captivating stage presence.

Tassilo has been recognised as a prize winner of numerous national and international competitions such as the "Concours International de Violon Tibor Varga" or the "Georges Enescu Violin Competition" and has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the NFM-Wroclaw Philharmonic, the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie and many more.

Tassilo has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the NFM Wroclaw Philharmonic, and has also been a guest soloist at national and international festivals such as the ENESCU Festival Bucharest, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and many more.

In addition to his solo activities, he is also an enthusiastic chamber musician. His chamber music partners include Daniel Hope, Nils Mönkemeyer, Daniel Müller-Schott and Alban Gerhardt. He has also shared the stage with musical greats such as pianist Lang Lang and violinist Daniel Hope, who said of him, “Tassilo is an outstanding young violinist and musician with a strong will, a unique sound, and an impressive command of his instrument.” In the coming season, Tassilo will perform Bach’s Double Concerto several times with Daniel Hope and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra.

His debut CD “Into Madness”, released in 2022 as a co-production of the Bayerischer Rundfunk and the label Berlin Classics with the pianist Maxim Lando (USA) and was awarded best chamber music CD of the year at the International Classical Music Awards in 2023 and nominated in three categories for the OPUS KLASSIK.

Influenced by his teacher and mentor Prof. David Frühwirth, he completed his Bachelor of Music at the age of 19 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich and is now studying for his Master’s degree with Prof. Linus Roth at the University of Augsburg. He receives additional musical inspiration from Prof. Zakhar Bron.

As a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Tassilo plays a violin by Giovanni Grancino (Milano 1690).
