Info for Dreams Of The Machine (Extended Mixes)

Dreams Of The Machine arises from the current state of the world we live in.

In our digital reality, we are increasingly controlled by algorithm and artificial intelligence. the rise of tools like ChatGPT is taking over functions that were once exclusively human. smartphones constantly draw us into the virtual world, sometimes so deeply that it makes us unhappy. AI seems more and more real. It affects our self-image: selfies are filtered and beautified until they are barely human. The authentic human blushes, and al comes dangerously close in his ability to imitate reality. sometimes it seems as if AI itself is hanging to be more human.

We also recognize this tension in our music. everything is created digitally behind the computer, but with the help of plug-ins, we often seek a more organic sound. we embrace small imperfections to show that our music is made by human hands. But: there already exist AI tools that generate complete songs. where is the boundary between human and machine? Can we create a world in which both exist in harmony, organic and digital?

Our previous album was full of real flowers. What would flowers imagined by AI look like? What is real anymore, and who decides that?

With Dreams Of The Machine we want to take the listener on a trip to these ideas. a journey to our own universe, where everything is allowed and where humans and machines dream together.

Tinlicker

Tinlicker
Hailing from Utrecht, the duo Tinlicker has been captivating fans for several years with a unique blend of house, electronica, and melodic techno. In 2022, Tinlicker released their second studio album, "In Another Lifetime," via the independent label Anjunadeep. The album followed a string of releases—including "Be Here and Now," "You Take My Hand," "Just To Hear You Say," and "Healing Forest"—which garnered acclaim from the likes of Pete Tong, Diplo, Gary Jamze, and John Digweed, as well as from renowned broadcasters such as BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, and SiriusXM. This was followed in early October by the "Perfect Mistake" EP, which featured several previously unreleased fan-favorite tracks.

Tinlicker members Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven—known for their forward-thinking sound design and dynamic songwriting—combined their extensive musical backgrounds in 2013. It quickly became apparent that Jordi’s polished pop and house production perfectly complemented Micha’s profound sonic palette—a skill set he had honed as a member of the drum-and-bass group Black Sun Empire. In 2019, Tinlicker released their debut studio album, "This Is Not Our Universe," through Anjunabeats. The album drew international attention for its powerful progressive sound and earned praise from Pete Tong and Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1, as well as from Jason Bentley on KCRW and SiriusXM. In the period between their album releases, the duo put out a series of acclaimed EPs and singles—including remixes for deadmau5 and Reflekt, their Beatport #1 edit of Robert Miles’ “Children,” this year’s “Lost Gravity” EP, and the 2017 global smash hit “Because You Move Me,” which has garnered over 160 million streams on Spotify alone.

This album contains no booklet.
