“The compositions on this album, played by the Gabor Varga Jazz Trio – unlike the previous albums – were not born on a piano but on a ‘Rhodes Mark I. Stage Piano’. This is a kind of immersion into the vintage world of the sixties. It’s not so much jazz, but rather an archaic fusion, in which the widely used keyboards of the rock bands of the era build a tight unit with the Jazz rhythm section.
Songs, composed in a simple and harmonious sounding, almost popular style, were robbed of their improvisational performance. Was there something like that before? Yes, of course. Exactly the same? Definitely not.
