Info for Ode à la nuit
Musicians have always sung its poetry: peaceful or tormented, serene or disquieting, clear or obscure, the night comes in an infinite variety of atmospheres that composers have always tried to capture. Drawing on the vocal repertoire, Roland Pidoux has written the transcriptions for this programme for a cello octet, the Cello8 ensemble founded by Talents & Violon'celles.
"It is a real pleasure to be able to add to the activities of Talents & Violon'celles a new project that allows us to expand our mission with young people, thanks to the commitment of its wonderful patron Joël Rousseau, who is always at our side to make the fund's projects sustainable and create value. By diversifying our activities we make our support for young talent even more complete. Creating a cello octet like Cello8 is an exceptional opportunity to allow our young people to perform on stage.
This is the very essence of our vocation: to create the conditions for transmission between an instrument, young people, their teacher and the public. But, beyond that, it is also a fabulous experience to allow the public to discover some pearls of the repertoire made accessible for this group thanks to the marvellous work of transcription that my father Roland Pidoux has done.
A huge thank you to René Martin who has believed in us for many years, who produced this disc for Mirare and who programmed us for more than 30 concerts throughout France. (Raphaël Pidoux)
