Info for Voices

Every voice is unique – a personal sound that is an expression of one’s own personality. The Vienna Boys’ Choir specifically nurtures this individuality: through intensive one-to-one vocal training based on the bel canto tradition, the children develop their own voices and blend them harmoniously into the choral sound.

The special quality of the boys’ voices lies in their fragility and transience, which lend every note a particular depth. An anthology of selected recordings from the last 15 years impressively demonstrates this diversity. The works – ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to Franz Schubert and Georg Friedrich Händel – have been individually tailored to the singers’ voices.

The musical journey takes us through sacred and secular works, solo and ensemble pieces, and culminates in a collective sound. The result is a multifaceted portrait that reflects both the artistic excellence and the humanistic aspirations of the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
