Jerry Chae
the current professor of Korea National University of Arts, was the principal clarinetist of Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra until 2012. Prior to these positions he served as tenured principal clarinetist of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra and professor of YeungNam University in Korea. Mr. Chae studied with Ricardo Morales at The Juilliard School in New York City where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

As a soloist, Mr. Chae regularly performs recitals in the United States, Russia, Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea. He has made solo concerto appearances with many prominent orchestras including the Seoul Philharmonic, the Busan Philharmonic, the Khabarovsk Orchestra, the Orchestra Franco-Belga of Brussels and the KBS Symphony Orchestra.

An active chamber musician, Mr. Chae joined the Marlboro Music Festival and is a member of the KumHo Chamber Music Society in Korea. He often invited to perform at the Seoul Spring Festival and at the Great Mountain Festival in Korea.

Mr. Chae was invited to play as guest principal clarinet with the Philadelphia Orchestra and has toured Europe and North America (17 countries) playing with the UBS Verbier Festival orchestra. He has served as 2nd and Eb clarinetist in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and was appointed as principal clarinetist of the LA Opera by maestro James Conlon. Mr. Chae has also been invited to perform with many orchestras such as the Metropolitan Opera, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and Malaysian Philharmonic.

Mr. Chae has won many international competitions including 1st prize from the 15th international clarinet competition "Ciudad de Dos Hermanas" in Spain as well as a special prize from the prestigious Concours de Genève (Geneva Competition) in Switzerland. In 2014, he was selected as a jury member of the "Jacques Lancelot international clarinet competition" in Yokosuka, Japan.

Jerry Chae is currently a Buffet Crampon clarinet artist and Vandoren Reed artist.
