Spectral Passengers
Travelers in the universe of sound, where diverse musical elements and influences continually form new paths that ultimately converge.
Four musicians with many musical influences and approaches – diverse yet on the same (sound) wave. Allowing themselves to be guided by the music and experiencing the shared energy – intuitively and freely improvising.
With new paths and contexts, detached from norms and well-trodden paths, their music moves to the intersection of contemporary, new and freely improvised music.
For the recording of their current album "Ahab's Dream," Cologne-based guitarist Christian Verspay brought together the three musicians Adriana Sanchez, Katya Schroeder, and Jaime Gamero, who have both extensive experience and a very diverse musical background.
The group came together for the first time for the recording and immediately harmonized with each other – both personally and musically. All pieces on the album were completely freely improvised and recorded live.
