The Storm Windows
Biography The Storm Windows
The Storm Windows:
The band takes their name The Storm Windows from a song title of one of their musical heroes, John Prine, but also as an appropriate description of some veteran musicians who have weathered a few storms but are still standing and singing about it. They will say: “On one level, our music is just a bunch of songs, mostly original, with which we have a personal connection. But it’s also a travelogue: part road trip; part nostalgia for something lost; part optimism for something coming. Not in any order. We hope people tune into that.” Back when the internet was young, the brothers played many shows as a duo and a band in Greenwich Village and a bunch of other places, spending many nights on the small stage in the corner of the now-gone Back Fence on the corner of Bleecker and Thompson. Then they stopped for a while, but re-emerged in 2022 with The Storm Windows project. Critics have labeled their music “New Americana” – a blend of folk, rock and even jazz laced sonics that the duo describe as a “survey the American landscape, like a cross-country adventure in a VW bus.”
