Anna Margolina

Biography Anna Margolina

Anna Margolina
was born in Minsk into a family of musicians and artists. She has lived in Berlin since 1992, received her first singing lessons at the age of 16. Her own ensemble emerged in 2015 with which she has been performing sold-out concerts ever since. As a guest soloist, Anna toured with the Andrej Hermlin Swing Dance Orchestra for a year and sang 1930s hits at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, Philharmonie Berlin, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Nikolaisaal Potsdam, and Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt. In her own programs, she increasingly focuses on contemporary sounds. At the end of the pandemic, the band toured 15 cities and Anna produced a jazz show on YouTube (OFSN) with pianist Kenneth Berkel. In her debut album “One Endless Night” (2023 XJAZZ! Music), the singer tells the moving story of her emigration from Minsk to Berlin. Her second studio album “Song Of A Girl” (2026 XJAZZ! Music) is dedicated to a poetess. The quartet had been invited to perform at renowned venues, including the Black Forest Festival, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, ZigZag Jazzclub, Jewish-Israeli Culture Days Erfurt, The Orange Room by Jazzradio Berlin, Jazzfestival Lech in Austria, and many more. "Considering the band's sound, one could easily have dreamed oneself into a bygone era of jazz: to a New York club lounge, while people dance and drink cocktails. You could almost wait for Frank Sinatra to mingle with the audience with a glass of whiskey and the singer to lie down on the piano." – Jazz Radio Berlin
