Biography Bosse
BOSSE
Axel Bosse, born in Braunschweig in 1980, has been making music since he was 17. He has been performing solo as (Axel) Bosse since 2003. As a German pop musician, he has made a name for himself in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and has received awards such as the German Music Authors' Prize, the Fred Jay Prize, and the Hamburg Music Prize "Hans." His albums "Engtanz" (2015) and "Alles Ist Jetzt" (2018) both debuted at number 1 on the German album charts. His previous albums, "Wartesaal" and "Kraniche," as well as the hit single "Schönste Zeit," have all been certified gold.
In times of declining sales, increasing pace of life, and a focus on "songs," selling over 100,000 albums is a rarity.
Selling over 100,000 albums is a rarity.
Being one of the most established and acclaimed artists in the German live music scene is perhaps the greatest accolade for consistency and the greatest gift one's audience can give.
The artist has performed for hundreds of thousands of people at festivals such as Rock am Ring/Rock im Park, Hurricane/Southside, Highfield, and Deichbrand. Bosse performed for over 13,000 fans at his own open-air concert at the Hamburg harness racing track and for over 100,000 people on the tour for his album "Alles Ist Jetzt" (Everything Is Now). His club shows sold out within two minutes.
Bosse captivates audiences with fresh musical ideas, witty lyrics, and remarkable depth in his perspective. He brings a focus on the "now" to his songs, as exemplified by his gold-certified hit single "Der letzte Tanz" (The Last Dance). It serves as a reminder to cherish the beauty of important moments and to live in the here and now. His album "Sunnyside" is equally multifaceted. BOSSE once again manages the balancing act between breezy summer songs ("Wild nach Deinen Augen"), thoughtful reflections ("Nebensaison"), and touching statements ("Vater").
Besides the music, it is also his stance and credibility that create a sense of identification. Bosse takes a firm and vocal position against all forms of right-wing German nationalism and National Socialist ideology and supports various NGOs.
20 Years of Axel Bosse: In 2025, Axel Bosse released his Best-Of album 2005-2025 and announced his tenth studio album with the new single "Vergangenheit" (Past).
