Biography Various Artists - The Gallery Concerts
ACT Art Collection Gallery
The concerts take place in a very intimate setting in the ACT Art Collection Gallery in Berlin. Musicians play in front of a small, selected audience amid original works by well-known artists (such as Gerhard Richter or Philip Taaffe), who often also adorn the covers of ACT albums. The series serves as an experimental field: This is where artists often meet for the first time or try out completely new live concepts. A large part of these special evenings are recorded and published in an ongoing album series:
The Gallery Concerts I (2022): Jakob Manz & Johanna Summer – An intimate dialogue between saxophone and piano.
The Gallery Concerts II (2023): Jan Lundgren & Hans Backenroth – The Swedish duo deepens the series under the theme “Jazz Poetry”.
The Gallery Concerts III (2024): Bernd Lhotzky – A solo piano album (“Rag Bag”) at the interface between classic ragtime and modern jazz.
The Gallery Concerts IV (2026): Summer Festival (Live) – The latest live compilation that captures the interplay of European jazz, classically inspired sounds and world music.
