Mathis Kaspar Stier
studied with Lyndon Watts and Prof. Eberhard Marschall at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. He was a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. He received further musical tuition by Dag Jensen, Laurent Lefèvre, Daniele Damiano, Mor Biron and Sergio Azzolini.
As a soloist Mathis has performed with the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, and the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonie.
Mathis was a member of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic as well as member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He played as a substitute with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, the DR Symphony Orchestra Copenhagen and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
A keen chamber musician Mathis has played concerts with various ensembles such as Goldmund Quartett or Scharoun Ensemble Berlin. He regularly plays chamber music with colleagues of the WDR Symphony Orchestra and has been invited to festivals like the Zermatt Music Festival, the Delta Chamber Music Festival in Spain as well as the Fêtes Musicales de l'Aubrac in France.
