Drawing from her own experiences and perspective, Pruitt’s raw, unflinching delivery cuts through the noise with a vulnerability that invites listeners into the conversation. On Fools for the Fleeting, Pruitt delivers her most expansive and resonant work yet—an album that embraces impermanence while searching for meaning within it.

“This album came from trying to figure out how to move forward in a world that feels aggressively chaotic and constantly in flux,” says Pruitt. “So much has changed in the last few years: politically, technologically, personally, and—of course—the irreversible damage done to our planet’s climate. I’ve been thinking a lot about how everything is temporary, and how that can feel either terrifying or freeing, depending on how you look at it. There’s some sombreness to these songs, but I also wanted to include a thread of hope.”

Since the arrival of her critically celebrated full-debut Expectations (a 2020 LP on which she documented her journey in growing up queer in the Christian South that earned her an Emerging Artist of the Year nomination from the Americana Music Association), the Nashville-based, Georgia-bred musician has assembled an acclaimed body of work exploring questions both existential and intimate. Never afraid to speak up and write about the issues she believes in, Rolling Stone praised her as a "dynamic new presence" with "soaring vocals, agile guitar work and deeply personal songwriting."

Katie Pruitt
is a Nashville transplant from the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Pruitt tackles human topics such as religion, mental health, and contemporary love songs with a modern twist. Her passionate delivery and powerful message are the reason her name has graced the bills of festivals such as Americana, 420 Fest, Pilgrimage, and sold out shows across the US and internationally.

After the 2018 release of her live Ourvinyl EP, Pruitt was named NPR's Slingshot Artist for 2019 and was also featured on All Song's Considered for her song "Grace Has A Gun." Not long after that she was chosen as the Luck Reunion Artist on the Rise for SXSW 2019. Pruitt has no plans of slowing down and when she isn't on the road you can find her in the studio writing and recording her debut record.
