The wait is finally over! After two years, Joshua Bassett’s second studio album, Easier, will be available Aug. 14. Bassett posted the news to Instagram, sharing the album’s full track list and announcing that the second track, “Dancing On The Edge,” would be released on Friday, Aug. 7.
The year 2026 has shaped up to be a busy year for Bassett. With the release of his album, he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Earlier this year, he made his off-Broadway debut in “Little Shop of Horrors” and earned a spot on the New York Times Bestsellers list with his memoir, “Rookie.”
In July, Bassett began rolling out singles weekly, kicking things off with “Clouds.” The rollout strategy may sound familiar to longtime fans. In October 2022, Bassett launched “Joshtober,” which followed the same format intended to preview his scrapped debut album, Complicated. If recent singles are any indication, the new record promises to be filled with introspection and yearning — feelings Bassett knows all too well.

is not only a singer and multi-instrumentalist but also an actor; yet, he describes himself simply as a regular guy from San Diego. He grew up surrounded by music. At the age of 15, he wrote his first original song for his homecoming date. His role as Ricky in the Disney+ spin-off series *High School Musical: The Musical: The Series* garnered millions of streams and brought him worldwide fame. This success led to his first record deal with Warner Music, among other achievements, and his 2020 debut with "Common Sense." That track paved the way for his self-titled debut EP, which featured the viral hit "Feel Something." Bassett raised funds for mental health organizations using streaming proceeds from the trio of songs "Crisis / Secret / Set Me Free"—supplemented by a personal donation of $20,000. At the same time, these tracks pushed his global streaming figures to around 280 million. Joshua Bassett’s success continues into 2022: his popularity is set to rise further with the release of his single "Doppelgänger," his feature film debut in *Better Nate Than Never*, and the announcement of his first headlining tour across North America and Europe.
