“So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it’s gratifying to have something you have done linger in people’s memories.” (John Williams)
The aim of The Legacy of John Williams is to give researchers, students and simple fans of the Maestro a platform to celebrate his work and the enormous impact that it had (and continues to have) on many people around the world, especially musicians, composers, film professionals, music scholars, historians and people that, in one way or another, chose their school and career path after being influenced by John Williams and his music.
After its inception in 2018, the project has grown considerably, thanks to the launch of a successful podcast series associated with the website that presents exclusive interviews with musicians who worked with John Williams over the years, sharing their stories and memories of playing for him, but also composers, conductors and professionals who were influenced by the Maestro’s music.
