Der verstorbene junge italienische Pianist Dino Ciani war ein Pianist mit einem beeindruckend breiten Repertoire für sein Alter. Niemand anderes als der große Alfred Cortot lobte ihn als: “wundersam begabt … eines der bemerkenswertesten Beispiele für die seltensten Talente, die man zu finden hofft”. Ciani arbeitete mit Dirigenten wie Claudio Abbado und Carlo Maria Giulini zusammen. Leider kam er im Alter von 32 Jahren bei einem Verkehrsunfall ums Leben. Sein anstehendes Album mit Schumann’s Novelletten erscheint digital am 12. Dezember als Teil der Debut-Serie von DG, die erste oder sehr frühe Aufnahmen von Künstlern präsentiert, die später beeindruckende Karrieren aufbauten.

Dino Ciani (1941-1974)
was born in Rijeka, Croatia. He studied at the Rome conservatory and subsequently with renowned pianist Alfred Cortot. He won the second prize at the Liszt-Bartok competition in 1961 which gave his name prominence. He would go on to record works by Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartok.
This album contains no booklet.
