Info for Skin&Earth
Die kanadische Künstlerin veröffentlicht "Skin&Earth", ihr viertes Album und Nachfolger zu "Little Machines" (2014), mit dem sie sich auch in Deutschland viele Freunde machte.
Das neue Album ist ein besonderes Projekt, denn es wird begleitet von einer Comicbuch-Serie. Unten könnt ihr einen ersten Trailer sehen und Bekanntschaft mit En machen, der Protagonistin der Geschichte. Die erste Ausgabe, geschrieben und illustriert von Lights selbst, wird digital im Mai veröffentlicht und am 12. Juli als gedruckte Version. Zu jeder neuen Ausgabe wird es dann neue Musik vom Album zu hören geben.
Lights kommentiert: "Ich habe das Gefühl, dass mein ganzes Leben zu einem Projekt wie diesem hingeführt hat, denn darin kommt alles zusammen, was ich liebe – Musik, Comics, postapokalyptische Romanze, Kristalle, Weine und kraftvolle Frauen, alles perfekt miteinander verwoben", so die frisch gebackene 30-Jährige (11.04.).
Hinsichtlich des neuen Albums sagt sie: "Es wird mein bisher bei Weitem unbeschwertestes und leidenschaftlichstes Album. Ich denke, Leute brauchen heute mehr denn je triftige Gründe, sich ein ganzes Album anzuhören, und das ist meiner".
Lights Valerie Poxleitner
born Valerie Anne Poxleitner (born on April 11th, 1987), is a Canadian singer-songwriter, signed to her own personal label, Lights Music. Her most notable singles include "Ice", "Second Go" and "Toes". In 2009, she won the Juno Award for Best New Artist.
Lights was born Valerie Anne Poxleitner in Timmins, Ontario. Her parents are of German and Austrian descent. She was raised by missionary parents and spent much of her childhood in various parts of the world, including the Philippines, Jamaica, Ontario and Vancouver. Since the mid 2000s, she has lived in Toronto and had changed her legal name to Lights. When asked about changing her name, she said her former name was a chapter of her life that was over; it was an easy change for her to go through and seemed almost natural. In multiple interviews, she stated that the changing of her name has great significance for her.
