Info for Christin Nichols

German-British artist Christin Nichols will release her new and third album. It is named after her, "Christin Nichols," and is the essence of everything this woman is and always has been about. Christin Nichols will be going on tour with the new album in April 2026. The advance single "Cheerleader" - an anthem about self-love - is being released today. The supposedly difficult third album is only considered difficult because it is often career-defining. In this respect, "Christin Nichols" is an ideal third album. Because the German-British artist Christin Nichols is closer to herself and her themes than ever before and has created some of the most rousing melodies of her career. So let's explain the Nichols twist, which the Tagesspiegel once described as a "typical mixture of bitter truth and witty defiance." On "Christin Nichols," too, the basis of many songs seems to come directly from the deepest valleys. They repeatedly deal with self-doubt, a struggle with one's own existence, even with the whole world. However, the conclusions the songwriter comes to on "Christin Nichols" are by no means gloomy or even hopeless. With playful ease, these songs find their way to bright heights, to hope, self-assertion, and love. Typical of this emotional uplifting is the following key line from the second single, "Cheerleader": "No life without me and no me without my life," Christin Nichols sings here at first--and then rises to driving indie guitars and keyboard pads in a radiant chorus about her pain, thus becoming a "cheerleader" herself. ROLLING STONE had already described the first new single, "Unsterblich" (Immortal), as a "powerful empowerment anthem." Everything on this album also comes together in the powerful "Keine Kontrolle" (No Control), the furious "Spotlight," and the glamorously weightless "Chelsea Boots." With this trance-like, floating...

Christin Nichols

Christin Nichols
After the break-up of her band Prada Meinhoff, the German-British artist, singer and composer Christin Nichols pursued a solo project. Her debut album mixes influences from post-punk and wave with dark, wide-angle pop and intimate, chanson-like moments. »Kein Auto, keine Perspektive« (»No Car, No Prospects«) the musician sings with charm and irony over analogue guitar riffs, adding a lack of houses, love and sex appeal to her musical list. Christin Nichols takes her listeners on a journey to sore spots and, at the same time, for a drink at their favourite pub. With lyrics alternating between German and English, rugged guitars experiment with keyboards, live drums meet synthesised bass. One thing’s for certain: with Christin Nichols, solo doesn’t mean boring and certainly not alone.

In 2021, Christin Nichols receives a grant of 5,000 euros to help establish her solo career.

In 2022, Christin Nichols receives a grant of 5,000 euros for the release of an EP and the realisation of a headlining club tour.
