Info for Banks Of The Trinity
Multi-Platinum-selling and four-time 2026 ACM nominee Cody Johnson is set to release his new studio album, "Banks Of The Trinity", on June 26, 2026.
“On this album, I wanted to tell the story about my childhood,” Cody said. “When I heard the song ‘Banks Of The Trinity’ for the first time, it was like this portrait showed in my head of memories that I had honestly forgotten. It just took me back home to Sebastopol, Texas, where I grew up on the Trinity River. I had tears in my eyes when I heard it for the first time.”
The album’s cover image is a photo of Lawrence’s Grocery Store in Sebastopol. As a kid, Cody would ride his bike two miles down an old dirt road to get a cream soda and a Blue Bell ice cream bar. He loved listening to the old men talk for a while before riding back home with a basket of groceries.
Banks Of The Trinity follows six hit albums, including Leather, which won the 2024 CMA Album of the Year. Cody has four RIAA Platinum #1 singles—“’Til You Can’t,” “The Painter,” “Dirt Cheap,” and “I’m Gonna Love You” with Carrie Underwood—along with numerous Gold and Platinum awards and 10 billion global streams. His latest single, “The Fall,” is in the Top 5 this week.
On Friday, April 24, Cody will headline Stagecoach for the first time. He said, “I'll never forget the first time I got the call to play Stagecoach. We were on one of the smaller stages, and I remember wondering whether anyone would even know our songs. Now we’re invited back to headline the Mane Stage. What a ride. I hope y’all bring the energy… because it’s gonna get western.”
Cody Johnson, who “just might be the future of real country music,” continues to live up to those expectations as his reputation and popularity grow among fans, the media, and the music industry. His career now boasts six highly successful albums, including the 2024 CMA Album of the Year, Leather.
In 2025, Cody sold an impressive 400,000 concert tickets and landed on Billboard’s Top 100 Tours list. Last year’s tour took him to exciting places like Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, and across the U.S., including two back-to-back sold-out shows at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The Tennessean called ‘the evening’s biggest superstar’ Johnson’s voice and said, ‘As a crooner, Johnson may have one of the underrated best vocal styles in music overall. When he grounds his feet and sets his mind to it, he unleashes a stunning instrument that leaves his crowd in awe.’
His industry awards and honors include recognition as a CMT Artist of the Year, four CMA Awards, two ACM Awards, three CMT Music Awards, and being named “Best New Country Artist” at the iHeart Music Awards. His television appearances have entertained fans on the Today Show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, and the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, in addition to outstanding live tv performances at the iHeart Music Awards, the ACM Awards, CMA Awards, CMT Music Awards, CMT Giants honoring Vince Gill, and the CMT Artist of the Year Special. Last summer, Cody co-hosted the three-hour “CMA Fest Presented by Sofi” with Ashley McBryde.

With an independent catalogue five albums deep and nearly 300 million on-demand streams accumulated largely in the last year and a half alone, Johnson has established a rabid following of loyal fans who thirst for his unique and authentic brand of country music. The aptly named CoJo Nation regularly flock to sold out shows in over two dozen states and purchased over 350,000 hard tickets in one calendar year. Earlier this year, Johnson became the first independent artist to sell out the Houston Rodeo at NRG stadium with over 75,000 tickets sold along with over $250,000 in merch. The former rodeo bull rider, turned prison guard, turned budding country star is known for his explosive live shows and electrifying stage presence. Earlier this year Billboard declared, “Cody Johnson is the real thing.” His latest indie project hit No. 2 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
