Adrian Brockless
(b. 1980), piano and organ, began his musical life as a chorister, first singing at St Bartholomew-the-Great in London and making his solo debut there as a treble in 1987, before joining the choir of St Paul’s Cathedral in 1988. He remained at St Paul’s until 1990, when he transferred to Guildford Cathedral, becoming Head Chorister (Decani) in 1993. As a treble he appeared regularly as a soloist in services and concerts across London and the Home Counties, and recorded Allegri’s Miserere as first treble on the Passiontide recording Crucifixus (on the Herald label). His musical interests later developed increasingly towards composition and the organ. Alongside his musical activities, he has pursued a career in academic philosophy, teaching and lecturing at a number of institutions while continuing to write and teach independently. He also maintains a longstanding interest in the natural world and conservation.
