Velveteen Queen
Biographie Velveteen Queen
Velveteen Queen
is a new Swedish band formed in Gothenburg in 2021. The band consists of Samuel Nilsson (vocals), Lukas Axx (guitar), Noah Mardh (guitar) and Isac Borg (drums). Two years ago they released their first single, “Trauma”, which is included on the album, and they have also released the EP “The Theater Sessions”. Now their debut full-length studio album “Consequence of the City” has arrived and the band will be doing a fair few live gigs during the rest of the year. The music is catchy, ballsy and perfect for getting a party started. This is a Swedish take on the glammy and sleazy rock music created in the US in the 1980s. These twentysomethings from Gothenburg weren’t even born during the era that gave us Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Guns N’ Roses, Cinderella and Poison. However, they have been inspired by that scene and brought those influences to here and now, because this album does not sound dated. This is no retro act.
