Maciej Pikulski
Pianist soloist, chamber music player and accompanist of famous singers, Maciej Pikulski was awarded a piano, chamber music and vocal accompaniment diploma at the Paris Superior Conservatory of Music. Then he was admitted to the post graduate cycle and became prize-winner of the France Telecom Foundation. A disciple of Dominique Merlet and Clive Britton (himself a former pupil of Claudio Arrau) Maciej Pikulski has already been invited to perform as soloist in Bresil, Uruguay, Russia, India, Sri Lanka, Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Poland and Belgium. He also performed great piano concertos of the repertoire with French, Belgian, English, Romanian, Italian, Polish and Brazilian orchestras.
Maciej Pikulski made 3 piano solo CD recordings: Sergeî Rachmaninoff’s Concerto °2 completed by works of Liszt and Chopin, the Franz Liszt’s transcriptions of Schubert songs and Sergeî Rachmaninoff’s solo piano pieces. He was chosen by French Chopin Society to perform the piano part in the reconstruction of the last Chopin’s concert in Paris. He was also invited to take part in the integral set of Mozart Sonatas for San Sebastian Festival (Spain). Also performer of chamber music, Maciej Pikulski recorded 2 CD’s with the french cellist Raphael Chretien and played in chamber music concerts with most of important french musicians.
Meanwhile, he developed a career as a vocal accompanist of world leading singers: he performed with José van Dam (4 CD recordings,1 DVD and recitals in Carnegie Hall - New York; Lincoln Center - NY, La Scala - Milan, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie - Bruxelles ; Concertgebouw of Amsterdam; Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires; Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris…); Renée Fleming (1 DVD and recitals in Salle Pleyel in Paris, Musikverein Großer Saal in Vienna , Grand Theatre de Genève, Barbican in London, Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, Dublin Concert Hall, Rudolfinum in Prague, Auvers-Sur-Oise in France), Thomas Hampson (CD recording devoted to french songs), Natalie Dessay and Laurent Naouri, (recitals in Versailles, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Montpellier, Geneva and Sao Paulo), Dame Felicity Lott (recitals in France, Great Britain, Spain et India), Maria Bayo (Recitals in Spain, France and Japan), Sumi Jo, Anna-Caterina Antonacci, Joseph Calleja, Christianne Stotijn, Patricia Petibon, Véronique Gens and Mireille Delunsch.
Maciej Pikulski gave master-classes in China, Brazil, India, Belgium, Holland, in Paris Superior Conservatory of Music, in Montpellier and in Strasbourg. He is also professor with tenure at the Superior Conservatory of Music of San Sebastian (Spain).
