The Bible has been written, recorded and presented in a number of ways in a multitude of formats. It’s difficult to choose a selection of passages from the Bible to create a ‘Greatest Hits’ vibe, without offending someone by missing out passages they believe to be key or that speak to them on a personal level. Do you give both the Old and New Testaments the same air time or do you lean, with your own bias, on the Testament that resonates with you?

I felt the best way to face this project was to look at some of the key themes in the Bible, rather than the usually presented Old through to New (there’s many arguments about what order one should read the Bible in anyway). Often our lives follow seasons, the peaks and the troughs, the celebrations and the challenges. We don’t look back on our own journeys, necessary, chronologically, so why not present this recording in a ‘new’ thematic way, through the seasons, peaks, troughs, celebrations and challenges of our Brothers and Sisters before us.

There are a number of books, people and themes not represented in this album, this is not a reflection on their importance or relevance.

This beautiful and new selection of passages from the Bible takes a thematic approach which mirrors the seasons, peaks, troughs, celebrations and challenges of our Brothers and Sisters before us. It is also set to wonderful music which is the perfect accompaniment to reflection and worship.
