Standard-Songs, insbesondere Jazz-Standards meiner Lieblingskomponisten: Tadd Dameron, Billy Strayhorn, Horace Silver, Benny Golson und andere, besitzen eine zeitlose Qualität, die sofort unvergesslich und wunderschön konstruiert ist, sowohl melodisch als auch harmonisch. Ich lerne dieses Handwerk seit ich ein Teenager war, und spiele durch die Lieder von Duke Ellington und Dave Brubeck. Wann immer eine melodische Inspiration zu mir kam, die normalerweise von etwas ausgelöst wurde, das mich bewegt hat, habe ich diese Meister als meine Modelle verwendet - und das tue ich immer noch. Alan Broadbent
Born in 1952, I’ve been a professional musician all my working life. At age 17 I had my first professional engagement as the guitar player in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom with the Charles Barlow big band which was a great training ground.

My main instrument is guitar and I also play bass and piano/keyboards.

My work over the last 30 years has been composing and performing music for TV and I have forged an excellent relationship with my publisher/manager Northstar Music who have given me the opportunity to write music for all forms of media and also to write and record albums of music that I really enjoy,
